Beat FunMasterMike Goes Live from Cancun!

Hey ChessKids! Ready for a classic show to return to your screen? If you saw the title of this article, you already know what to expect. "Beat FunMasterMike" is back this Wednesday, October 22 at 1:30pm ET, and we've got a lot planned for this episode. Keep reading to get the full rundown of what's in store in this special installment!

What is Beat FunMasterMike, exactly? Once the event begins, any ChessKid, including you(!), can challenge FunMasterMike to a game once you enter the live play server. The goal? Win! Check out some past episodes of ChessKids just like you taking on the FunMaster and defeating him live on the show. Make sure you have FunMasterMike added as a friend on ChessKid before the event begins for a chance to play against him live.

Well, when is the show being broadcast? Next week is a special week for ChessKid because the entire team will be in Cancun, Mexico for an in-person meetup! This means that Beat FunMasterMike will be streamed live from Mexico on Wednesday, 10/22 at 1:30pm ET/12:30pm CT (local time). The show will last for one hour, and in that time FunMasterMike will take on as many challengers as possible.

Who are the friends, you ask? Other ChessKid staff will be stopping by throughout the show to give commentary, make some moves, and distract Mike while you take his queen!

Here's a few special notes for the show:

• As always, please send FunMasterMike challenges (in the "Friends" tab in Fast Chess) for 5-minute games, not 10- or 15-minute. Otherwise we'll have too few games to watch! (If you send challenges other than 5-minute and it is accidentally accepted, he will have to abort the game).
• FunMasterMike expects 100 percent fair play! You are not allowed to use any outside help of any kind, as always. The one "special exception" is that you can watch his live show as you play. If he says something that is helpful to you, so be it, but be warned there is a delay, and he might say something that is wrong!
• Please, please, one game per ChessKid. If you have already played him on this episode of Beat FunMasterMike, please don't challenge him again. If you do and he accidentally accepts, he will just abort the game anyway. We're trying to give as many kids a chance as possible!
