Chesscampeona on the Move; Chess is Everywhere

Did you know that 605 million people play chess around the world? That is a lot of people! They are people like you and me. As a national and international chess player, I have learned that chess is everywhere - in schools, in movies, in different countries!

But there is more to chess than just pieces. When I was younger, my coach used to tell me how chess was important. He opened my mind to see how chess could give me opportunities to visit other countries and learn about new cultures. Through chess, I have visited numerous countries: Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Greece, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates. Visiting these countries has given me the opportunity to see the beauties I learn about in school.

Recently I was able to visit the United Arab Emirates for the World Youth Chess Championship. It was beautiful! My family and I learned about a new culture. It impacted my view of life. I also made friends that will last forever.

I've seen how chess has brought people of different nationalities and cultures together. At times in international chess tournaments, I see players from different nationalities, who do not speak the same language, analyzing a game! Chess players from other countries have different playing styles that are important to learn. So do not be afraid of the different styles of play. They can only help you grow as a chess player.

Do not be afraid to dream! I dare you to imagine yourself playing chess in different country. I dare you to take that step and represent your native country in an international tournament. I dare you to make friends for different nationalities. Remember, don't be scared and dare to dream!

If you're dreaming of beating me in live chess, well, these ChessKids came close!
