Join us in Trafalgar Square for London's ChessFest on July 17

This Summer, ChessKid will return to London’s iconic Trafalgar Square for ChessFest, the outdoor festival dedicated to chess fans of all ages.

The free event, hosted by Chess in Schools and Communities, will commence on Sunday, July 17, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, starting with a ChessKid Puzzle Battle on the giant screen overlooking the square.

London is home to one of chess’s most well-known venues, Simpson's in the Strand, which is just down the road from Trafalgar Square and was the location where chess masters once played the famous ‘Immortal Game.’

ChessKid will have a front-row spot to meet you all at our booth, where Woman International Master Ivette Garcia Morales will join us, alongside chess streamer LulaRobs. So stop by to say ‘hi!’, ask us questions and solve puzzles to receive a free month of Gold ChessKid membership.

We will also showcase a ChessKid Transatlantic Match featuring two brilliant UK chess prodigies, Bodhana Sivanandan and Kushal Jakhria, fresh from their gold medal triumphs at the recent European School Chess Championship in Rhodes! Watch the game live from the square as they battle against their challengers from the United States, Irene Fei and Megan Paragua.

Alongside our booth, you can enjoy other shows and performances, including a ‘living’ chess set that will re-enact Garry Kasparov’s famous victory against the chess computer ‘Deep Blue.’

See you at Trafalgar Square!
