ChessKid and The German International School of Riga Host A Joint Tournament

ChessKid is happy to announce a brand-new cooperation with the German International School of Riga, which started with a joint chess tournament.

The German International School of Riga is one of the best international schools in Latvia, founded in the summer of 2015. The goal of the school is to provide its students with a German international education meeting the highest standards.

The school also has its own chess club, which trains around 50 people. There are regular classes, including live lessons, online lessons, and tournaments. Students will now also begin practicing on the ChessKid platform!

The event took place on Sunday, May 8th and was attended by 28 players. It was a blitz tournament made up of 5 rounds. The winner took all 5 games, and there was a real battle for second and third place, which was only resolved by extra odds, as both players had 4 points.

Each tournament participant, as well as all members of the school's chess club, received an annual gold ChessKid subscription. They have already started using ChessKid to improve their skills by solving chess problems, analyzing their own games, and engaging with online video lessons.

ChessKid is very excited about the continuation of our partnership with schools, especially with the chain of German schools around the world. We're looking forward to new tournaments, including international ones!

It's great that after a long-term pandemic, it's possible to return to in-person chess events and get those vital emotions and social interactions that were missed during lockdown. The kids were definitely happy about it!

Congratulations to everyone who participated!
