Has your child watched every video on ChessKid, done puzzles every day, and just can't wait for the next SuperKing level to be released? What next?
If you really want to take your child's chess ability to the next level, the logical step is private lessons with an experienced coach! This is great for both eager up-and-coming players as well as tournament players looking to refine their game. Maybe your child wants to learn how to play from a real, live teacher? Private lessons are a fast-track to success and also, just a lot of fun. And some kids just learn better with a live coach keeping them focused!
Best of all, we've taken the mystery out of which coach to hire. FunMasterMike and many other chess masters had private coaches growing up, and now we can recommend several for your child! We've also made the process safe, secure, and easy.
The coaches for our Beta ChessKid Coaching launch are all personally known, and approved by FunMasterMike (and all passed background checks!). Most of them have been teaching in school, group, and private lessons for more than 10 years, with amazing success in getting fast improvement from their students.
We have national masters like the energetic streamer NM James Canty III, and also NM Nick Matta, the coach of many state championship teams and individuals. NM Shawn Martinez has won many national titles and was even a former student of FunMasterMike! Expert Steve Abrahams is a state champion and official FIDE Trainer, while Nicole Church is a former FunMasterMike colleague who he "took" some of his famous chess-isms from!
Go to the ChessKid Coaching page, scroll down and you'll see options to book a 4-lesson package or an 8-lesson package. The payments will all go through the same trusted ChessKid checkout process to ensure that the transaction is safe and secure.
You'll get to choose your most convenient times for the lessons:
(Keep in mind, our current coaches are located in the US and have schedules that range from 6am PST to 8pm PST. We will be adding more coaches worldwide soon!)
You'll be able to give guidance on what you'd like your child to learn, or you can let the coach choose the content for the lessons. Each coach has a different style but they all have much to offer!
ChessKid will assign a coach based on rotation and availability, and then email you the link to their calendar:
As soon as you schedule the first lesson with the assigned ChessKid Certified Coach, you'll get a confirmation email with a unique Zoom meeting link. You'll be using screen sharing, the ChessKid Analysis Board, and any other teaching tools the coach may prefer!
Your coach will also be able to see your child's game history on ChessKid, ensuring that he/she will have good knowledge of what your child needs to work on!
