The festival will feature fun activities for all ages, including bughouse, blitz and blindfold chess. In addition, you’ll have a chance to meet two special chess guests: FM Tani Adewumi and FM James Canty.

"Detroit has a rich chess culture among adults and children," Chevelle Brown, the festival's organizer said. "The Detroit Festival allows them to come together in a fun way that deepens our roots and introduces chess to the broader community, ensuring our future."
