ChessKid Jets to the Cadets Results

The first ever ChessKid International Children and Youth Online Festival, AKA “ChessKid Jets to the Cadets”, is over, and we're pleased to announce the names of all six ChessKids who will receive the opportunity to go to Batumi, Georgia for the FIDE World Cadets Chess Championships tournament, which will be held from September 15-28, 2022!

Players were split up into two tournaments: an open tournament and a girls tournament. Both tournaments featured an Ages 8 and Under, an Ages 10 and Under,  and an Ages 12 and Under section. All games were played with a time control of 5 minutes + a 5-second increment starting from the first move.

PRECIOUS PRIZES

All tournament participants already received digital certificates of participation and winners and awardees (1st, 2nd, 3rd places) got their digital diplomas.

We are happy to announce that the first-place winner in each group received $400 to participate in the FIDE World Cadets Chess Championships tournament. The ChessKid team is looking forward to meeting all of the winners in Batumi, Georgia

SPECIAL EVENT

All six winners of the online tournament will participate in a friendly match between the ChessKid Team and the Adjarian Chess Federation Team in Batumi during a free day of the FIDE World Cadets Chess Championships. This activity will consist of:

  1. A team match in rapid chess (10 minutes + 3 seconds), with six players from each team: U8, U10, U12, with one girl and one boy in each category. The captain for the ChessKid Team will be FM Mike Klein (FunMasterMike), while the Adjarian Chess Federation team will be led by IM Salome Melia
  1. Match in Giant Chess – each player will play a move, one after the other.
