Announcing FREE ChessKid Videos in Ukrainian

Kids in Ukraine (and Ukrainian-speaking kids in other countries) now have access to a series of fun and educational online chess lessons on the ChessKid Ukraine Youtube channel.

These professional-quality videos were created by ChessKid’s team of chess educators, and are designed to be entertaining and effective in teaching kids the fundamentals of chess.

Even kids who are already familiar with the game will be able to learn new tactics, tricks, and concepts through watching the videos.

This series of video lessons is a way of providing children with entertainment and a much-needed distraction while the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues.

Topics cover a range of levels, from basic introductions to the pieces and how they move (Pawn 1) to learning how to anticipate your opponent's moves (Queen 9). Additional videos will be released over time.

All videos are narrated by three-time world champion GM Anna Muzychuk, one of Ukraine’s most respected and prominent chess grandmasters.

ChessKid and Muzychuk have previously collaborated in an initiative to support the people of Ukraine by raising funds for charity. IM Yuriy Kyrkun also provided valuable help by supplying Ukrainian-language captions.

We encourage you to share this news with anyone who is in contact with Ukrainian families with kids, as well as chess coaches who have connections in Ukraine. Please help spread the word and bring these free lessons to as many children as possible!
