ChessKid Youtube Contest!

Announcing the first ChessKid.com Video Contest - a chance for all ChessKids to be creative, show their love for the site, and even earn some cash and rewards for their school!

Here's the deal: Make a video and upload it to YouTube - the video must be about or at least mention ChessKid.com. You should explain why ChessKid is the best chess site for kids in the world! It can be a song, play, documentary, whatever you can dream up. It can be funny, serious, sad, heroic, triumphant - whatever mood you want to make it.

Three videos will win! The video with the most "likes", the video with the most views, and one "judges pick" where we (the Staff members) will pick our favorite! The contest ends on April 1, 2014 - so get all the likes and views you can for your video by then! Winning videos will each take the prize of $200 for chess lessons, as well as FREE Gold Memberships (up to 50) for their school chess club for one year!

Here are some additional rules:

• The video must be written by and acted out by kids (you can have a few adults in the video if it is needed, but it should be mostly with kids).
• Parents and adults can help film, edit, and upload the video.
• Parents and adults can also help "market" the video once it is uploaded, to get more "likes."
• The video must be "family friendly" and not contain any questionable content.
• A school can have multiple entries from different ChessKids, but you should try not to have kids from different schools collaborate, since the cash and gold awards prize only goes to one school.
• When you upload, you should title your video "ChessKid Video Contest:" and then the name of you video.
• ChessKid.com reserves the right to settle any and all disputes or issues related to the contest.

That's it - when you finish your video and have it uploaded to YouTube, send an email with the link to chesskid.com so we can make sure to follow the number of likes. Remember, the contest ends April 1, 2014. No, this is not an April Fool's contest - there really are those cool prizes!
