Fischer Not So Random

Bobby Fischer remains a legend.  Sure, he was kind of a strange guy, but his chess was phenomenal.  Today we will look at a few puzzles from games where Fischer destroyed his opponents! By, Mrs Jessica E Prescott (aka BoundingOwl).

First, we'll start with an easy fork.  I like this game because it shows that even Grandmasters make mistakes!  Black to move and create a fork in one move.  Do you see a hanging piece?  Your second move exploits the pin (if he tries to save his rook).  You can remove the guard without even sacking anything!

2.  This puzzles uses a sneaky pin to deflect the bishop.  Once the bishop is out of the way, Fischer will queen his passed pawn in two moves!  Great endgame tactic to remember...it even works against World Champions!
3.  This puzzle leads to mate.  A swallow's tail mate follows a pretty rook sac.  Mate in 2!
4.  Here is a nice easy one for you!  Do you see how the queens are lined up with only a bishop in between them?  Can you find a discovered attack that will win the queen?!
Pretty amazing, huh?!  Fischer will always be remembered for his thrilling chess play.  Did you see all those tactics?   Want more Fischer?  Click here...
