Mass Open: Beating A Life Master

I am going to show you an exciting attacking game I played in the Mass Open 2015. The Mass Open, or Massachusetts Open G60, is a tournament held every year in Marlborough.

The time control is G60 d5. That means you get 60 minutes to make all your moves, and each move has a five-second delay.

The G60 Mass Open is a four-round swiss tournament. I usually do pretty well in the Mass Open. Last year in the same tournament, I tied for second place, drawing a 2460 and a 2200.

I then beat a 1900 and a 2133. At that time I was 2074, and after the tournament I was rated 2118.

This year, in the first round, I beat a 1500. In the second round, I played a life master who is rated over 2300.

In the third round I played a 2400, who I lost to, and in the last round I beat another 2200.

I also scored three points out of four, same as last year, but I only gained 18 rating points this year.
