This article explains how ChessKid Stars and Gems work to help you understand what function they have, how they support learning, how they are earned, and how to use them on the platform. It also explains the different features and activities that reward them.
At ChessKid, we believe learning chess should be exciting and engaging because kids learn best when they’re having fun! That’s why we’ve expanded our rewards system with Stars and Gems.
Stars are learning points. Kids earn them by completing chess-related activities. Just like stickers on a reward chart, Stars show effort and progress, helping kids level up as they learn.
Gems are pretend play money. Kids earn Gems to trade in for fun extras like outfits and accessories for their avatar. These have no real monetary value and are just for motivation and creativity.
Together, Stars and Gems make learning feel fun and rewarding, the same way stickers and classroom bucks encourage progress in school.
