🎉 Announcing The 8th Annual King of Puzzles Contest!

Mark your calendars for July 2023, because the excitement is back! The 8th Annual "King of Puzzles" challenge will kick off on July 1 and continue until July 31. It's your chance to showcase your puzzle-solving skills, play against the legendary FunMasterMike, and even have your game turned into a thrilling video with commentary. Get ready for an incredible chess adventure!

Important Dates:

The contest will run from midnight (12 a.m.) Pacific Time on July 1, 2023, until 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on July 31, 2023. Make sure to mark these dates on your calendar and get ready for a month of puzzle-solving excitement!

How to Participate:

To enter the contest, you'll need to join the ChessKid Official Club. This will ensure that your puzzle progress can be tracked using the leaderboard. If you haven't joined the club yet, now is the perfect time to do so. Remember, you should only compete using one account, and adults are not eligible to participate. Let the ChessKids shine!

Puzzle Solving Goal:

Your challenge is to solve at least 100 puzzles correctly in the month of July. Every puzzle you conquer will bring you one step closer to becoming the ultimate puzzle-solving champion! 🧠💪

Rules and Sportsmanship:

Please read the rules carefully and remember to compete in the spirit of good sportsmanship, which is the foundation of chess. ChessKid staff expects fair play and proper conduct throughout the contest. Resetting puzzle ratings or any other method designed to gain an unfair advantage is not allowed. Let's make this a fair and exciting competition for everyone!

There will be one winner who will be drawn at random using the website random.org. In order to be in the drawing, you must have solved 100 puzzles correctly in July.
There is no advantage for being the ChessKid to have solved the most puzzles, but you will get a lot smarter by solving more than 100!
ChessKids may only compete using one account. Adults are not eligible.
If you want the best chance to be eligible, you'll need to be able to do unlimited puzzles. We recommend a ChessKid gold membership for this reason!
You'll be able to follow your progress to 100 using the club leaderboard feature.
Again, ChessKid staff would like to stress that proper sportsmanship is expected for the contest. Resetting of puzzle ratings is not allowed, nor is any other method designed to give a ChessKid an unfair advantage.
The best way to prepare is to do all of our lessons on tactics, which are mostly in the queen levels.
ChessKid may conduct advanced and thorough cheat detection on any account. Anything not covered in the rules is at the sole discretion of ChessKid.com.
Puzzles that are set in unrated mode & puzzle duels and puzzles by theme don't count.
Top players will get a special shoutout in the winner's article on ChessKid.com!

Progress Tracking and Leaderboard:

You'll be able to follow your progress towards 100 puzzles using the club leaderboard feature. Make sure to check your position and see how close you are to achieving your goal. The ChessKid Official Club is where the puzzle-solving champions gather!

Prizes:

One lucky winner will be drawn at random using the website random.org. To be eligible for the drawing, you must have correctly solved 100 puzzles in July. The chosen winner will get the incredible opportunity to play against FunMasterMike! The game will be recorded and featured in a video with commentary, making you a ChessKid superstar forever. 👑

Preparing for the Challenge:

To enhance your puzzle-solving skills, we recommend completing the lessons on tactics, especially those in the queen levels. The queen levels contain valuable knowledge that will boost your puzzle-solving abilities. Take advantage of these lessons. 🧩
