Robot-vinnik, Part 2

In Part 1 we learned about the sixth world champion, Mikhail Botvinnik, who could play chess like a robot. In fact, when he was very old and had retired from playing in tournaments, he was one of the first people to work on designing a computer that could play chess!

In the first part of this game with another great player, Lajos Portisch, Botvinnik seemed to have fallen into a trap. He grabbed a pawn on c7, but the very next move Portisch made not only attacked Botvinnik's queen, but also trapped a rook and attacked the rook, all at the same time!

Well you know, even great players can make mistakes. Even robots can get their wires crossed! But the kind of mistakes that great players make are usually a little more complicated. Botvinnik definitely saw Portisch's move, and had something planned. Now you can see what it was!

Now that's a robot you don't want to mess with!
