This year, mark your calendars for the 2025 US Chess National Puzzle Championship on Thursday, December 11, 2025, co-organized by US Chess and ChessKid!
1) The National Puzzle Championship will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 3pm local time onsite at the National K-12 Grade Chess Championships in Spokane, WA. The National Puzzle Championship will take place after the Bughouse tournament and before the Blitz Championship, so players have the chance to participate in all three events!
2) The National Puzzle Championship will have two divisions: Grades K-6 and grades 7-12. All kids in grades K-12 are invited to compete even if you're not playing in the main tournament. However, all players must have a current US Chess membership. Registration for both the puzzle championship and the main event can be found here.
3) All participants must provide their own laptop, phone, or tablet that has Wi-Fi capabilities. Phones and tablets should have the ChessKid app downloaded before the event. The ChessKid team will provide one-time accounts for the participants. Participants will compete on ChessKid's web site or app.
4) This is an official national championship event, sanctioned by US Chess. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each section, including the title of "National Puzzle Champion"!
