Sicilian Stinky Socks Tricks

Howdy chess friends! Do you know the Sicilian Dragon opening? Watch out for some Stinky Sock Tricks! By Mrs Jessica E Prescott (aka BoundingOwl).

The Sicilian is a very sharp opening anyway, and both sides have to keep their eyes open. Here are the first few moves in general:

Now both sides have done CDC (center, develop, castle) and are just about ready to attack! Here is your first puzzle; are you excited?!

1. White to move and deflect the king away from guarding the queen. Also known as intermezzo since you don't just grab the queen right away. (Also known as patience, looking for the best move.)

Great! Now let's go a move backward. How did white set up this trick?
