The Best Ever?? Part 2

Hi!

Last week we saw the beginning of the game between Garry Kasparov and Veselin Topalov. So far, nothing special has happened. In fact, it looks like Kasparov might even be in a little bit of trouble. But with such a great player as he is, you have to expect the unexpected!

The first part of the attack has ended. The king was caught in a jail on a4 for a little while. Now he has escaped. But it was a case of out of the frying pan and into the fire!

This game was a huge battle. It takes two to make a great game! Topalov did not have to take Kasparov's original sacrifice of a rook. He could have declined the sacrifice and the game probably would have ended in a draw. But he was brave and tried to call Kasparov's "bluff". Only it wasn't a bluff!

The game had so many twists and turns - the sacrifice of two rooks, the king caught on a4, finally breaking free and running down the board, and the final cross-pin - that is will probably be remembered forever.
