Theme: Bxh7 Sac! Part 2, New School

Hi kids!  Do you remember how to sacrifice your bishop on h7?  This is part 2, so click here if you need to look at the previous article.  We will see several more games with the theme of a bishop sacking in order to break through black's castle walls.  This sac has happened throughout history so you'd better get to know it well!

----"SAAAAAAAAC!!!!"

In the following puzzle, one of my favourite players, Irina Krush, gets sacked on.  Undecided  Oh well, you win some, you lose some.  What comes after the sac?

That's right!  A forcing check.  Watch how white follows up by using both rooks and the advanced pawn.
Let's look at another example of a bishop sac.  This time, after your sac, you check, then skewer the queen to the hanging rook!  This is a great position showing zwischenzug.  White didn't automatically just trade queens, he looked and found something way better!
Notice how this theme includes lots of open lines to the king?  What three pieces are good at attacking along long lines?  Our long-range pieces of course:  Queens, Rooks, and Bishops!
In our next puzzle, because of the lifted rook, a pin looms large!  Can you find it?
Excellent!  Even if the king had captured, we could still make our pin by checking then going Rg3.  Nice work!
For our final Bxh7 sac, watch Super Amazing Super GM Magnus Carlsen destroy his opponent's castle and threaten mate on every move!  He forces his opponent to give away his queen, using a devious discovery.
Fabulous!  You are now a Bxh7 Master!  Have fun sacking and don't forget to use your whole army.  Oh, and of course black can sac on h2, too!  Tutu!
