[This is a letter sent to ChessKid from Babaldeep Singh, mother of Ziana. ChessKid reprinted it here with the family's permission.]
Ziana, also known as Rosiefork on ChessKid, started playing on the site when she was four years old during 2015 summer break. She improved so fast in a couple of months that we enrolled her in the Dubai Chess Club with coach WGM Iva Videnova. Her coach has been excellent making chess all fun and she uses the ChessKid app to play chess games with kids, and keep track of puzzles practice.
The world's youngest internationally-rated girl is only five years old.
Ziana got her Elo rating 1133 in January 2017 and is still five, making her the youngest female rated player in the world right now. She is currently the highest-rated female Indian player under seven, third in Asia and ninth in the world for the same category.
She already won the Dubai School Championship for Grade 1 and also the UAE Championship for the same while still being in kindergarten. She finished best under six in Category B Sharjah Cup International Chess Championship for Women 2016. She also took part in World School Chess Championship in Sochi, Russia.
"One of her dreams is to some day meet FunMasterMike," Mrs. Singh wrote.
She loves the Chesskid app and website and we often find her watching ChessKid videos and laughing. She does tons of puzzles every week. Her favorite video is the one on Isolated pawns and opening blunders. She finds ChessKid really easy to navigate and loves doing her lessons and going level up.
Chesskid.com has literally changed her life.
