Our grandmaster coach shows off a great game by a 1700-rated superstar. Both sides develop normally, but White plays without a plan and Black storms his king with several strong pawn advances! This is a great example of what happens when one side plays actively and one side aimlessly. By move 25, Black already has two queens. Don't let this happen to you - make sure you watch to learn how to make a plan in the middlegame.

Balaji Dagupatti won the recent Under-8 Section of the Chesskid Invitational with sparkling tactics, including several from this game. Coach Eugene shows us how he played against the Siclian nearly perfectly, and pounced when black broke the important rule of bringing his queen out too early. Balaji didn't even need his queen for the early checkmate - the bishop and knight did just fine!

GM Eugene is back, once against sharing a game from his youth. This time we see Eugene in the last round of a tournament right as a diabolical idea hits him: his king is doing his duty, stopping black's two passed pawns from turning into queens...but maybe there's something else that king could do!
