FunMasterMike and IM Gabriel Grecescu commentated the Baltic Festival
At the finals Slovakia won over Czech Republic with a 4.5-3.5 score. There was a brief connectivity issue that nearly cost Slovakia a point, but ultimately good sportsmanship prevailed and the players were able to play their game.
Here's one of the wins from the finals, where Nina does everything right! First she uses a fork tactic to win material, then plays "old man chess smart girl chess!" to trade into a winning ending. FunMasterMike approved of it all!
Slovakia will have the chance to play against other top teams from the ChessKid European Team Festival later this year. In additional, all players for the winning team received free year long ChessKid Gold memberships. The second place team received six month ChessKid Gold memberships, and all other players received three month memberships.
