But, "Wait, wait, Mr. FunMaster, we're not done," you say!
And I say, "I'm not Mr. FunMaster. That's my dad!"
But seriously, you are correct that we're not done with prizes yet! As announced on the live show, all kids were eligible to submit a game for a "Best Game Prize" in each section. And the prizes would be one of six of FunMasterMike's real-life chess trophies that he won as a kid. There's no prize quite like it.
An actual photo of FunMasterMike's chess trophies in the back of his Mini Cooper. Not to worry -- the winner's trophies will be dusted off before mailing!
A little piece of FunMasterMike's childhood chess success will be mailed to each of the winners' homes. And since it was me doing the judging, I made my selections based on things that I value in chess: tactics, fighting spirit, good comebacks, trading into winning endgames, and more. I wasn't looking for perfection -- we're not Magnus. Wait, is your name Magnus? Mine isn't!
Here's the winners (note that there were no entries in the Kindergarten section so I awarded two prizes in the 2nd grade section):
1st Grade Winner: RareVastTrolley
2nd Grade Winner: YonatanA17349720
2nd Grade Winner: LionsMarkR
3rd Grade Winner: LucaTM122719
4th Grade Winner: MiniMilitaryTempo
5th Grade Winner: karre123
Congratulations to all and to the winners please look for an email soon about how I can get you your trophy!
