Intercontinental ChessKid Candidates Starts on June 21st!

Starting on June 21st, eight young chess players from around the world will be facing off in the first ever Intercontinental ChessKid Candidates tournament!

The Intercontinental ChessKid Candidates tournament will feature eight ChessKid candidates who made it to this final stage by competing in a series of online qualifiers and semifinals, in which over 200 players under 12 years old from 52 countries participated.

ChessKid will cover the cost of accommodation for each player, a chess tutor to help prepare them for their games, as well as the cost required to attend the tournament. In addition, all players will be playing in the very same room and using the same boards and pieces as the adult grandmasters playing in the FIDE Candidates Tournament!

Players will be competing in a round robin tournament that takes place from June 21st to June 23rd, with a closing ceremony on June 24th. The time control will be 25 minutes plus a 5-second increment. The full schedule can be found here:
