King of Fast Chess Contest Winners!

UPDATE: The match between Chessboxer2003 and MahoganyMouse will be live on ChessKid TV on Thursday, June 5 at 7:00 p.m. Eastern (New York time), 4:00 p.m. Pacific. FunMasterMike will provide live commentary. Tune in then to see who will be crowned the first King of Fast Chess!

Our very first King of Fast Chess Contest ended when the calendar flipped to May, and it is time to announce the winners!

Chessboxer2003 won both contests - total games played (798) and total games won (474)! By rule, the contest must have two winners, so the challenger will be MahoganyMouse, who had the second-most number of wins (363).

Only games longer than 10 moves counted (even though sometimes it can't be helped!), but after researching their games from April, both players followed all the rules.

These two will meet for a live chess match this summer, with FM FunMasterMike commentating live on ChessKid TV! We will announce the date and time when we confirm what works for the players. They'll each receive money to be used for chess lessons!

Here's a pretty mate that Chessbover2003 found:

Congratulations to all who competed. It is amazing that Chessboxer2003 averaged more than 25 games in Fast Chess every day. We hoped you liked the contest, and we plan to repeat it in the fall. Who knows, maybe we will even do a King of Puzzles Contest!
