New ChessKid Monthly Championship Format!

The ChessKid Monthly Challenge is changing it up! Starting in February, the ChessKid Monthly Challenge will introduce a new format for players.

Just as before, the monthly event will take place on the first Tuesday of every month there will be two scheduled tournaments to allow ChessKids from all of the world to compete. An early tournament will take place at  3pm CET/6:30pm India/11pm Sydney. The later tournament will take place at 3:30pm PT/6:30pm ET. Make sure you're a part of the ChessKid Official Club to join!

Dates/times for ChessKid Monthly Championship

Rather than have only the first place player crown winner, we'll have the top four players from the early edition and the top four from the late edition face off (separetely) on the third Wednesday of every month. The semifinals and finals matches between the final four players will be streamed on our Twitch and YouTube channels with live commentary. The winner of those four-player "knockcout" matches will then be qualified to compete in the year-end All-Star Finals. (The exact format of the knockout portion will be decided later.)

As always, this tournament will be checked very closely for fair play. If you are found to have violated our fair play, you will have your account closed and you will not be allowed back on the site. We expect all children to play honestly and with sportsmanship. Be sure to check out our Fair Play video!

With this new format, we look forward to seeing even more exciting chess than before. The best and brightest ChessKids will be showcased. Make sure that you join the ChessKid Official Club to participate. Good luck!!
