ChessKid Youth Speed Chess Championships Round One Begins!

Starting on June 20th, the third annual ChessKid Youth Speed Chess Championship kicks off with round one matches! The event will host a series of one-on-one matches with top youth players from around the world. All players will be aged 10 and under with a total prize fund of $5,000! In addition, the winner will also receive private lessons with a top-rated GM (this will be determined later depending on the language preference of the winning player).

 

This series will host eight of the top youth chess players from around the world. Similar to the Chess.com events, participants will play a series of blitz chess matches. Each match will be two hours long and will be decided by 5+1 and 3+1 time controls.

Quarterfinals for this event will take place on June 20th and 24th, and the finals will take place shortly after. Each quarterfinal match will feature live commentary and can be watched live on Chess.com/TV and on the ChessKid channel on Twitch.tv. Here's the upcoming schedule for round one matches:
