International Chess Day: Break Our Server!

ChessKids do you ever roll out of bed in the morning with the feeling that the day is extra special? Maybe you won free tickets to Disney World!?

That probably doesn't happen too often but something special will on July 20th, which is International Chess Day.

We know you love to play chess, but we also know you like to sometimes take things apart and break them. And on this day, we want you to do both!

HOW TO CELEBRATE

My routine to celebrate International Chess Day is as follows:

THE CHALLENGE

Every year I celebrate International Chess Day by playing at least one game for every year I have been alive (I'm not telling you how many games that is this year!).

This year we want you to do the same: If you are nine years old, play at least nine chess games! If every kid on ChessKid does this, you'll break our server.

It's OK, we want you to! Are you up for the challenge? This is one of the rare times where a grownup is asking you to break something. It would mean your love for chess is stronger than our ability to contain it.

How many total games do you think it will take? 10,000? 100,000? 1,000,000? Whatever the number, we want you to do your part (but still play like good ChessKids and not abandon games, or anything that is not proper).

But, you'll need reinforcements! Tell all your ChessKid friends to do the same. You'll make FunMasterMike proud AND you'll make me work deep into the night to fix the server for the next day
