Chess is played by millions of kids in every corner of the world, and International Chess Day is the one day a year we all celebrate it together.
This year, ChessKid is making International Chess Day extra special. Gold is unlocked for everyone from July 18–20! That means unlimited puzzles, unlimited lessons, all the bots, and Game Review are free for three full days!
And to celebrate, we're sending you on a Chess World Tour. Each day, you'll "visit" a different part of the globe and complete a chess challenge inspired by that region. Daily tournaments in the Official ChessKid Club are also running all weekend long, so there's even more ways to celebrate!

🇮🇳 Stop 1: Solve Puzzles in India, the Birthplace of Chess
Did you know chess was invented in India over 1,500 years ago? Back then it was called chaturanga, a game of strategy for kings and warriors. Today, India is still one of the greatest chess countries, home to legends like Viswanathan Anand.
Your first stop on the Chess World Tour honors that tradition with the most ancient chess skill of all: solving puzzles.

- Solve 20 puzzles. Take your time and think like a chess warrior before each move!
- Track how many you get right on the first try.

🇦🇲 Stop 2: Head Back to School, Armenian Style
In most countries, chess is something you play after school, but in Armenia, chess is a PART of school! Since 2011, chess has been a subject in every Armenian classroom, just like math or reading. Armenian kids grow up learning chess the same way you learn your ABCs!
Our Pet Bots are heading back to class in their brand new Back to School outfits. And today, your mission is to challenge Ziggy and Miss Pickles!

🇳🇴 Stop 3: Train Like Magnus Carlsen in Norway
July 20th is International Chess Day, and we're ending the World Tour in Norway, home of Magnus Carlsen, the greatest chess player of our time.
Magnus is famous for one thing above everything else. He never stops learning from his games. Win, lose, or draw, he reviews every move, finds his mistakes, and comes back stronger.
Today, you're going to do exactly the same thing with Game Review.
✈️ Today's travel itinerary:
- Play at least one Fast Chess game against another player on ChessKid.
- After the game, open Game Review and go through your moves with one of ChessKid's interactive coaches.
- Find one move you're proud of and one mistake you want to fix.

Play a second game and try to avoid the same mistake. Did you improve? That's exactly how Magnus does it!
