This summer, HQ is activating a seven-mission training program, and your name is at the top of the list.
Your top-secret mission, if you choose to accept it, includes puzzle streaks, bot battles, Fast Chess showdowns, game debriefs, and one final over-the-board challenge. Complete them all and you will earn your place among the best chess agents in the world.

A Note for Parents & Camp Counselors
ChessKid HQ has turned this year's Summer Camp Challenge into a secret agent adventure, available on web, iOS, and Android. And, there's no packing or travel required! Each mission builds real skills like focus, problem solving, and pattern recognition, wrapped in a format kids actually want to engage with. Help your camper get started and then watch them run with it!

🎭 Mission 2: Set Up Your Avatar
Codename: Create Your Cover
Every secret agent needs a disguise, and at ChessKid, yours is your avatar! This is your chance to create your very own ChessKid character and show the world your style before you even make your first top-secret move.
Do you want to be a chess wizard? A dragon? An astronaut? The choice is yours, and your avatar will represent you across every game you play!
🎯 Mission Briefing:
- On the ChessKid app, head to the "Me" tab to update your avatar.
- On the website, look for "My Avatar" in the menu.
- Personalize your outfit, hairstyle, hair color, eye color, and accessories.
- Make it yours because no two agents look the same!

Every great agent sharpens their mind before heading into the field. Today’s mission? Train your brain with ChessKid puzzles! For a ChessKid secret agent, pattern recognition can be the difference between checkmate and defeat.
🎯 Mission Briefing:
- Set a timer for 10 minutes.
- Solve as many puzzles as you can without missing one.
- Track your streak! One wrong move and the streak resets.
- Agents don’t give up, instead they start again!

Every agent must prove they can outsmart their opponents. Today, ChessKid HQ has three mystery opponents waiting for you, but each one plays differently. Can you figure out their secrets and outsmart them all?

- Choose any 3 ChessKid bots. You can try Qwerty, Fun Judit (named after the legendary GM Judit Polgar!), Pet Bots, or even Little Gotham.
- A real secret agent trusts their instincts so no hints allowed!
🔖 Bonus Challenge:
After each match, file your official Bot Report.
- Were they sneaky? Defensive? Overconfident?
- Rank your opponents from easiest to toughest.
- A good agent always debriefs after a mission!

The best agents keep detailed notes. Use a notebook or whiteboard to track your bot battles.

The best agents don't just think smart, they need to think fast. Today, ChessKid HQ is putting your speed and instincts to the test. Play against real kids from around the world and see how you handle the pressure of the clock!
And here's something new this year! You can now see your own avatar and your opponent's avatar while you play. Does your avatar have what it takes?

Codename: The Debriefing Room
Every great agent reviews their mission after it's complete. What went well? Where could you have made a better move? At ChessKid HQ, the Debriefing Room is where good players become great ones!
After your Fast Chess game, head straight to Game Review and go through every move with your very own coach. Learning chess isn't just about playing, it's about understanding!

- Complete a Fast Chess game on the ChessKid iOS app.
- Head to Game Review and explore every move.
- Choose your coach! Pawn, Knight, Bishop, Rook, Queen, or King bring their own personality to the debrief!
- Review your stats and your opponent's stats: Brilliant, Great, Best, Excellent, Mistake, and Blunder.

- Play outside if you can. A backyard, a park, anywhere the sun is shining!
