When Super-GMs Were ChessKids!

The world's super-grandmasters were all once ChessKids, too. Yes, there was a time that GM Magnus Carlsen couldn't castle. At one point, GM Hikaru Nakamura didn't know about opposition in the endgame. GM Viswanathan Anand couldn't tie his own shoes

It's a good reminder that every chess player starts from the same place. We will all have our pieces trapped, hang checkmate, and get caught in an unknown opening. It's part of the process!

How many of these super-GMs can you name? Hint: Many of them have videos about them below!

Through dedicated, practice, and focus, the world's top players learned all these ideas more quickly than most, allowing them to quickly rise up through the ranks.

Here's a collection of players who've all reached 2800, and a video of their best games played while they were ChessKids!

Will ChessKid.com be making a video about you someday?
